You can get the Varina flats in all kinds of different color combos!  These are a true classic, and an investment that is worth every penny.
The red bottoms are iconic, and you won't wear any pair of heels more than classic black ones.
An elegant pair of ballet flats are wearable with everything.  These Chanel flats are my favorites!

A true preppy classic, topsiders are my favorite casual and classy shoes.
If you are on the fence about investing in a pair of Hunters, they are 100% worth it!  I want them in every color...

Fair Isle Style

Sweater: J. Crew    Jeans: Ralph Lauren   Sunglasses: Polette     Boots: Hunter
Pearls: Vintage    Bracelet: Kiel James Patrick (similar)

Fair isle is one of my favorite prints for fall and winter.  And yes, it is spring now, but I'm a total sweater lover and I don't store away my knits until summer is approaching!  This warm J. Crew wool fair isle print sweater is so cozy.

I'm in love with these Vikki sunglasses from Polette!  Tortoiseshell sunglasses are my absolute favorite, and these frames are not only high quality but super flattering on any face shape.  I love the gold arrow details on the side too!

In My Handbag!

Bag: Kate Spade

Mini Planner-
I never go anywhere without my tiny planner!  A little organization really helps me to keep my head from overloading.  Hey, girl's gonna be busy!

Wallets-
My tattersall Coach wallet and this mini floral Henri Bendel hold all the essentials: cash, cards, coins.

Highlighter-
Benefit Watts Up is my favorite.  It's a tiny little thing, but it brightens my entire face in a pinch.

Way too many lip products-
Burt's Bee's balm in Hibiscus, Smith's Rose Salve, Mac "Ruby Woo" and Fresh Sugar Balm!  The Burt's Bee's is my go-to natural pink color, and the Mac lipstick is a flawless red for when I need some fancy.  Smith's Rose Salve is amazing (seriously, everyone should own this one) and Fresh has the prettiest tints and sweet scents!

Mini camera lenses-
For an impromptu shoot or Instagram snap when the Canon isn't around, these little wonders take great pics on iPhones.

Lilly Pulitzer tech case-
For my phone, iPod, and whatever else I'm carrying, I'll bring it in this "Lucky Charms" tech case.

Stevia-
When my coffee is bitter, I always have organic stevia on hand.

Seasonal Sanitizer-
Bath and Body's Salted Caramel is my favorite scent.  I also love their light florals for summer!

iPod touch-
It's pink.  I love it.  Need I say more?

Ivy Style Oxford

Oxford: Ralph Lauren    Dress: Banana Republic    Bracelet: Kiel James Patrick
Bag: Vintage Bally (similar)   Shoes: Bandolino (similar)

Today, I'm so happy to be collaborating with the lovely Caitlin of Your Typical Prep to style our Ralph Lauren Oxfords!

I believe you can never have too many classic oxford button downs.  Ralph Lauren makes my favorite ones.  They are crisp, classy, and so easy to wear with just about anything!  They even make monogrammed ones, which I seriously can't wait to try out.  I'm wearing my favorite blue oxford button down.  This one is from the girls section, but I added in a link to the regular one above.  Caitlin is styling her pink and white striped oxford!

One of my favorite ways to wear my oxford is knotted over a dress, like this striped one from Banana Republic petites.  This is a great way to make any dress more casual for the daytime (and keep your shoulders warm too)!  I added a few classic accessories, like my vintage woven Bally bag and KJP Nantucket Summer Regatta bow.

Caitlin's Outfit-   Oxford: Ralph Lauren     Belt: H&M   Sunglasses: Ray-Ban   Shoes: Sperry
Bracelet: J. Crew (similar)    Bag: Old Navy

See Caitlin's full post here!
Special thank you to Caitlin for collaborating on this post!  I had so much fun.

Stubbs and Wootton has always made the best loafers, hands down.  But bows+plaid?  Perfection.

If this skirt isn't a princess moment, I don't know what is.  (by none other than Lauren Conrad)

Poppy lipstick completes any look.  And how beautiful is this one?

You will want to wear this J. Crew dress every day of spring.

This Kate Spade bag just needs to get in my closet right now.

Bows on my toes.  Anthro just knows my favorite things.

Morning Routine - Hair and Makeup

Hello, everyone!
Today I'm teaming up with Renee of Gimme Glamour to share our makeup and hair routines!
{Eyes}  Mascara: L'Oreal   Eyeshadow: Urban Decay

An eyelash curler is a must for me, I started using one last summer and it's made all the difference!  They are surprisingly easy to use, and my lashes stay curled all day long!

I use L'Oreal Voluminous Butterfly Mascara, which has a really great brush that creates clump-free volume.  Another mascara favorite is Benefit They're Real mascara!

Everyone raves over the Urban Decay Naked palettes, and trust me, they are worth the hype.  Every essential color that I need is in this Basics palette, and they blend together seamlessly.  A+ for this one!

I also carry around a little brush to sweep out any clumps in my eyelashes or fix up my eyebrows.   You can pick these up at Sephora, they are so great to just toss into my purse or clutch bag.

{Lips} Lip Balm: Smith's via Anthropologie    Lipstick: Jordana   Crayon: Revlon

At any given time, I probably have 3-8 lip products in my bag.  One of them will definitely be Smith's balm.  I picked this up at Anthropologie, and it's the best lip balm ever.  It smells amazing, hydrates, and has a pretty pink sheen.  I also love Burt's Bees Color balm in Hibiscus.

Red lipstick is an essential.  My favorites are Mac "Ruby Woo" and Stila "Ruby" but this matte from Jordana is a wonderful garnet color and it looks great.

A pink lip color is great for when red is too fancy.  I like lip crayons, they are easy to apply and work really nicely.  Clinique Chubby Sticks and Revlon color balm are the best.

{Face}  Moisturizers: Simple, Clinique, La Mer, Origins
Powder: Guerlain     Primer: Benefit    Highlighter: Benefit

Moisturizer is non-negotiable for me, since California is really dry.  I use Simple every day, carry Clinique in my bag, use Origins for a bit of tinted coverage, and use La Mer when I just need a skin saver.

Guerlain Meterorites are pricey, but 10000% worth every penny.  They are so pretty, and definitely have magical powers.  These things prove that pearls are always the answer.

Benefit's primer and highlighter are everyday essentials, to brighten and wake up my face.  I use a simple highlighter pattern (see it here), and it makes all the difference!

{Extras}

Cetaphil cleanser is perfect for me, since my face is really sensitive to harsh washes (is it just me, or does exfoliating hurt?)  My dermatologist recommended this, and so does Good Housekeeping!

Urban Decay makeup setting spray is good for a night out, cause I usually forget to touch up my makeup when I am out.  This keeps it in place and flawless for hours.

Origins makes the best mask for my winter face.  I use this once a week in the winter, and it keeps my skin from getting really dry or irritated.  Bonus: it smells really good too.

{Hair}

To curl or not to curl, that is the question.  My haircare routine is pretty simple.  If it's unruly, or it's summer, i'll put in some serum for frizz.  My hair is naturally wavy, so I'll either opt for a straight look with my beloved flatiron or add some extra bouncy curls with this gigantic curling iron.  Unless it's a total mess, my hair usually takes 5-10 minutes.

All done!  Check out Renee's post here at Gimme Glamour.  Hope you enjoyed my beauty routine!

How to Dress Like Blair Waldorf

Blair Waldorf has one of the most iconic styles on TV.  She's the quintessential preppy icon, with a gorgeous wardrobe of amazing clothes.  Everyone wants to dress like Blair, right?

Here's a guide to the style of the ever classy Queen B!

Rule #1-  The Little Black Dress never fails.

Blair is wearing an amazing pair of tartan heels here, which pair perfectly with her classic and simple outfit.  And of course, she's wearing a headband, because what else would Blair Waldorf do?
Rule #2-  Never let color intimidate you.

Without color, your closet often falls flat.  Blair mixes bright shades effortlessly in her outfits, and it works so well!  Try a brightly colored coat, jacket, or sweater and mix it with a few colorful accessories (don't go overboard here, it can get too loud very fast.)  Underneath the outerwear?  Just about anything that works well with the accessories!
Rule #3-  Classic prints never get old.

There are a few prints that just go with everything!  Stripes play well with florals and leopard, polka dots look great with bright colors and Lilly prints, houndstooth looks amazing with structured pieces, herringbone plays well with all kinds of prints, and plaid is perfect with cable knits and more!
Rule #4-  Don't be afraid to mix prints!

Print mixing can be scary, yes.  But print masters like Blair pull it off with ease!  Just read this guide on print mixing, and remember one important tip: fit really matters when you are mixing your prints!
Rule #5-  Go ahead and go all #tbt.
Go-to outfit:  Vintage purse + elegant hat + ladylike coat.

There is a certain elegance that comes with successfully dressing like a little old lady.  I love stealing my grandma's vintage Chanel kitten heels and going off to afternoon tea.  :-)
A classic Chanel is timeless, and Blair's girly coat and vintage hat give a cute 50's vibe.  But of course, feel free to add a few modern accents, like the gold wrist cuffs on the coat's sleeves.

Rule #6-  It's fine to break the rules.
Go-to rule breakers:  Anything that's not totally traditional!

For her wedding to Chuck, Blair didn't wear white like a traditional bride!  Instead she wore this beautiful seafoam blue beaded gown that was to die for.  Not traditional at all, but she still looked classic, gorgeous, and 100% like a bride.
Rule #7-  When in doubt, have a stylish friend on hand.
Go-to friend:  Your bestie of course!

Who doesn't want to be Serena and Blair?  They are such a stylish pair...
how amazing was this dress?
There you go!  Keep it classy, and you'll be dressing like Blair Waldorf regularly.
