Simple Weekend Outfit // Military Jacket + Sneakers

Jacket: Vera Wang (similar by Hudson)      Jeans: 7 for All Mankind       Tee: Alexander Wang       Shoes: People Footwear       Bag: Matt & Nat      Sunglasses: Stella McCartney      Necklace: xoxo kait (similar)     Bracelet: Kristine Lily       Ring: Kristine Lily

This outfit is such an easy one to put together, and it's probably comprised of the comfiest things I own.  One of my essentials is the perfect tee: for me that means it's soft, drapes nicely, swingy, has an open scooped neckline, and is light.  This one fits the bill for me- I normally don't like to spend a lot on something as simple as a layering tee (thankfully I got this one secondhand), but there's always options depending on how much you want to shell out: I love Alexander Wang, Splendid, Reformation, and Forever 21's options.

These shoes by People Footwear are the most comfortable pair I own.  Yes, more comfortable than flip flops!  They're as light as air and I just love the versatile and on-trend grey tone.  As always, I'm giving my totally honest opinion when I say these are one of the best pairs of shoes I have ever owned, and I highly recommend them.  I can totally see myself owning more pairs of these in the future.  They are 100% vegan of course, and come in loads of fun colors and styles!

What is your favorite off-duty outfit?

Field Jacket in Fall // Autumn Staples

Jacket: J. Crew     Shirt: J. Crew      Jeans: 7 for all Mankind      Boots: Wills London        Sunglasses: Stella McCartney (similar)      Lips: Tarte in "Bae" (available here)

It's beginning to look like fall over here in SoCal, and I'm loving it.  This outfit pretty much encompasses all of my favorite staples for autumn!  One of them is the Field Jacket by J. Crew- it's one of the pieces J. Crew makes with a cult following.  It's a waxed cotton jacket that is super durable and achieves that outdoorsy, adventurous look with a nice structure, and I love when they bring it back every year come august.

Of course, another one of my fall staples are a good pair boots.  These riding boots by Wills Vegan Shoes have been my go-to footwear lately- they are such beautiful quality and I love the simple yet classic design.  They pair so nicely with everything!

As for the rest of the outfit, I think it goes without saying that jeans are a must during the cold seasons.  I always opt for a skinny dark wash- it's the most versatile and typically the most flattering (at least for me).  Striped shirts are a really great layering piece for all seasons and I like having a thicker breton style during this season.  Add on my go-to red lipstick, and that's my favorite fall outfit!

What's yours?

Veggie Vibes // What I Buy at Whole Foods

Top:  Wear Bare Bones ℅      Jeans: 7 for all Mankind      Shoes: People Footwear ℅     Bag: 88

Whole Foods is my happy place.  They have such a wide selection of healthy and vegan products, beautiful produce, and a bomb salad bar.  Of course, you don't have to shop exclusively at Whole Foods to follow a plant-based lifestyle!  I actually do the majority of my shopping at Sprout's and Trader Joe's where I based my diet around cheap and healthy staples like potatoes, whole grains, veggies, and fruits.  The stuff I get at Whole Foods is usually just stuff I can't find anywhere else, and I try and keep the costs fairly inexpensive.

I'm wearing this top that the awesome team at Wear Bare Bones sent over!  I love their vegan statement tees and this Veggie Vibes tee is so fun to wear in a casual outfit like this one.  If you're one of my vegan readers, definitely check them out!

Here's what I got at WF-

Cereals $3.00 each // Oatmeal $3.29

I love the Whole Foods 365 brand of breakfast items.  I actually don't tend to eat cereals in the morning, but more as a sweet snack or dessert.  The crunchy cinnamon squares and peanut butter cocoa balls are my favorites!  For breakfast I love having oats, and these Maple Spice oatmeal packets are great if I don't have time in the morning and need something super quick.

Marinara $2.99 // Ravioli $3.99

I used to love ravioli before I went vegan, but there are two raviolis that I like to get now: Candle Cafe's Portobello Kalamata Ravioli, and these Rising Moon Organics ravioli.  The Rising Moon brand is all vegetarian, and some are vegan, so you just have to check for the vegan certification or ingredients.  They are super healthy and really well-seasoned.

I also picked up a jar of the 365 Fat Free Marinara, which is one of the only marinara sauces I've found that is oil free.*  I like making my own marinara too when I have the time.

*Oil is vegan of course.  I just prefer to avoid oil as much as possible because I prefer to stick to a whole food diet.  Oil is pure fat extracted from a food in its whole form.  It's much healthier to eat the whole food and gain the nutrients that come with the healthy fat!  For example, avocado oil is the oil extracted from avocados.  You could just be eating the avocado and gaining the nutrition along with it.  It's just a personal preference, and I feel best eating oil free.

Maca $7.99 // Hummus $3.49 //  Potatoes $1.99 per lb

Maca, like other superfood supplements, is a little pricier, but I only use it in small quantities so that little bag should last a few months.  I love it in smoothies- it has a light butterscotch flavor to it.  Now this might sound weird, but I love Hope's Dark Chocolate Coconut Hummus.  It doesn't taste beany, I swear- more like a sweet, tropical chocolatey spread.  AMAZING.
I also love Japanese sweet potatoes- they have such an amazing flavor.  I'm Japanese so I always ate these when I was younger.

Lace in Late Summer

Dress: Blu Pepper (similar)    Clutch: Anthropologie     Shoes: BP     Hat: H&M    Sunglasses: Stella McCartney     Belt: H&M

Is it still summer?  Does the title of this post still apply?  It definitely feels like summer over here in California, although that's pretty much 90% of the year.  One of my favorite things this summer has been lace, as can be evidenced by my favorite Stella McCartney bag and a lot of the outfits I've posted in the past few months.  I love this lace halter dress, and I've also been wearing it under a knotted chambray button down for a casual spin.
