Simple Navy Shirtdress

Dress:  J. Crew (similar)    Bag: Anthropologie     Shoes: Rampage    Ring: Kristine Lily ℅
Bracelet: Vintage Cartier (borrowed)

The shirtdress is a classic, and I love this simple navy one from J. Crew.  It's simple, understated, and it's one of my favorite minimalistic pieces in my closet.  Simple outfits like this are sometimes my favorite ones to wear.

Let's Get Physical

Jacket: Lululemon  (similar)   Top: Athleta    Crops: Lululemon    Shoes: Reebok     Bag: Matt & Nat (similar)    Sunglasses: Stella McCartney

I've received a few questions asking if I work out and what I wear when I do.  Yes, I work out!  I've definitely noticed a change in my energy levels during my workouts and a boost of motivation since going vegan, and I'd love to write a post on that soon.  I think exercise is vital to a healthy and happy life, and I've grown from dreading a workout to looking forward to getting active and moving.

It's definitely more fun to work out when you have fun active wear, and my number one stop is always Lululemon Athletica.  Their trademark Luon fabric is so comfortable, breathable, and allows for a great range of motion.  My black Hustle in your Bustle jacket is a staple- it features thumbholes (see pic two), a great fitted silhouette, and a fun ruffle detail in the back!  I love wearing it on runs.

Vegan activewear accessories are surprisingly easy to find- most athletic shoes are from man-made materials.  I love fun and colorful running shoes like these Reebok ones!  It's mostly psychosomatic, but I like looking down at my shoes when I run, and seeing colors gives me a burst of energy.  I also love this Matt & Nat satchel- it's perfectly roomy and the lining (made from recycled plastic bottles) stays super clean.

What do you wear to work out?

Orange Grove Blossoms

Dress: H&M Conscious (similar)     Jacket: Old Navy    Bag: 88     Sunglasses: Stella McCartney     Shoes: BP    Bracelets: Vintage

I'm back!  For the past week, I've taken a little unplanned blogging break.  The main reason?  I just wasn't feeling it.  I also didn't have a lot of content to post, so I took the week off and just relaxed on my social media and blog... and it was really nice.  Sometimes I stop thinking of this blog as the fun creative outlet that it is and I let it stress me out, and that's when it's good to step back.  Don't get me wrong, I love LMHC and I am so grateful to have a platform to share the vegan message I'm so passionate about.  My week long blog break was much-needed, but I'm happy to be back in the swing of things!

I've been really loving maxi dresses lately!  It's a little harder to find petite-friendly options that need little to no alterations, but one of my favorite tricks is tucking a few inches of the skirt under the waist seam and pinning it in place, which is what I did here.  This breezy H&M Conscious number features a fun botanical floral print, and you all know how much I love sustainable style.

Bow-Back Gingham

Dress:  J. Crew (similar, also love this one)   Shoes: ModCloth (similar)   Bag: 88 ℅   Jacket: Old Navy    Bracelet: Kiel James Patrick

One of my favorite spring prints is gingham, and I love this old J. Crew dress with a self-tie bow back.  I love gingham with lace to give it some contrasting texture, so I added these heels.  Sort of fun fact- I only own two pairs of heels at the moment!  My vegan transition prompted me to get rid of all my leather heels, cutting my entire shoe collection down to less than 15 pairs.  While that certainly doesn't qualify as minimalism (I couldn't imagine owning only one or two pairs of shoes), I'm actually kind of loving my smaller selection of shoes.  It feels good not to have an overwhelming amount of pairs in my closet, and it's almost like a fresh start.

This bag is another one from 88's summer collection!  It's made of a gorgeous vegan saffiano leather, and it even has a shoulder strap.  Again, their designer quality stuns me, and I love the peachy, rosy color (this one is Cafe au Lait), although it comes in many other options.   Something I noticed was that it stays very clean- I've ruined many a nude purse with tea stains or dark wash jeans, but the material holds up wonderfully.

Happy May!  It's my favorite month of the year (although my birthday is this month so I may be a tad biased ;-)
