Tied With a Navy Ribbon // Blair Waldorf

Coat: Marc Jacobs {almost identical version here} // Skirt: Urban Outfitters {similar} // Sweater: Madewell {similar} // Shoes (): Wills Vegan Shoes // Bag: Kate Spade // Bracelet: Kiel James Patrick // Watch (): VOTCH

Since California's cold days within the year are so limited, I try to bring you guys as many winter outfits as possible because I know that even when we have sunny weather, most of the country is still snowy.  Right now, we're actually getting buckets of rain, and it may not be obvious here, but it was on-and-off pouring as we shot this outfit!  It's an occupational hazard that comes from living in such a sunny place, but I just love rainy weather, or any kind of weather that allows me to break out my coat.  That's why I'm so excited for my Ireland trip this spring- finally a way to get some use out of my cold-weather wear.

This navy look brings me back to my preppy days, which I style have elements of in my style.  Navy is such a classic color and it's flattering on basically everyone.  I paired this trench with a cozy funnel-neck grey sweater {last seen here} and my favorite plaid skirt for that New Englander vibe.  And that ribbon in my hair was an afterthought but kind of serves at the finishing touch on the Blair Waldorf aesthetic I was going for.  Let's just all disregard the fact that ponytails make me look way younger than I really am.

I hope you've all had a lovely week!  Mine's been a pretty busy one (and next week will be even worse), but I'm looking forward to relaxing this weekend!

  8. Cute outfit! The navy hair ribbon goes beautifully with your Marc Jacobs trench coat, and your pretty plaid skirt from Urban Outfitters looks pretty styled with the Madewell sweater. It's a real pleasure reading outfit posts that feature vegan accessories!
