Madewell Station Knit + Green Tartan Plaid

Sweater: Madewell (love this one and this one) // Skirt: Urban Outfitters // Coat: Marc Jacobs (similar) // Bag (℅): 88 Handbags // Shoes (℅): Wills Vegan Shoes // Watch (℅): VOTCH // Lips: Tarte 'Bae'

This has got to be one of my favorite outfits that we've shot for the blog (however, stay tuned for a roundup of my favorite outfits of 2016, coming soon!)  This sweater is a cotton knit by Madewell, called the Station Pullover.  I love thick, chunky cotton knits during winter, especially in white or ivory.  I paired my sweater with this green plaid skirt from Urban Outfitters.  I also added on this Marc Jacobs navy trench that I scored on Poshmark, and I love the slightly nautical vibe it gives to the outfit.

I'm also sporting some fun vegan accessories that I recently received and I've been loving.  This bag is by 88 Handbags, a company I've worked with frequently here on LMHC and that I adore.  I'm carrying their new Allie convertible bag, which comes in three different color/prints.  Basically, the flap is detachable and you can interchange it with another one to transition from day to night (I'm using the tan "day" flap here).

My watch is from VOTCH, an all-vegan watch company that crafts beautiful vegan leather watches.  I'm wearing the blush pink and gold watch, and can I just say, I'm in love.  I'm not normally a huge watch-wearer, but their watches have such a clean aesthetic and gorgeous finishes, and I've been pairing my new watch with everything.  They're based in London, just like Wills Vegan Shoes, my favorite footwear brand.  These Block Heels are my favorite pair of shoes and if you've been following LMHC for a while, you know that I wear these all the time.

Garden of Blooms on Navy // Full-Skirted Dress

Dress: Chi Chi London // Bag (℅): 88 Handbags // Shoes: LC Lauren Conrad // Bracelet: Kiel James Patrick // Lips: Tarte 'Bae'

I originally saw this Chi Chi London dress on my favorite fashion blog earlier this year, and I fell in love.  When you think floral, the first thing that pops to the mind is spring, but I love wearing floral print year round (same with plaid, gingham, and other prints you might relegate to a certain season).  This dress would be perfect for a spring wedding, but I'll be wearing this to holiday cocktail parties and dinners this season.

One of my favorite tricks to make an outfit a little fancier and at the same time add definition to the waist is to tie on a bow belt.  This is just a simple black satin sash that I added on, and not only did it add an extra formal touch, but it helped pull in the extra fabric of the dress (the size I got was too big and I hadn't gotten alterations done yet).  This is my favorite DIY quick fix.

I just added on my favorite accessories for a formal look: heels, my signature red lipstick, and a simple bag and pearl bracelet so as not to distract from the dress.

What is your favorite holiday outfit this season?

Winter Wear // Holiday Plaid + Sleek Black

Sweater: Anthropologie // Skirt: J. Crew (love this similar one) // Bag (℅): Veggani // Shoes: LC Lauren Conrad // Sunglasses (℅): SICKY Eyewear // Belt: H&M // Lips: Tarte 'Bae'

Happy Friday, friends!  Maybe I've mentioned it before, but fall and winter is my favorite time of the year.  Now, I love living in SoCal, but it's pretty much hot and sunny year round.  Late fall and winter is when it gets just a tiny bit cold and the non-palm trees start to change, and it's just so crisp and gorgeous outside.

In addition to my favorite weather, this season also has my favorite clothes to accompany it.  This J. Crew skirt is from last year- the tartan plaid print in green and red makes for a perfect Christmas number.  I love wearing plaid during the holidays, and implementing it in a chic piece like a skirt, heels, or cocktail dress gives it a classier vibe than your typical flannel or pajamas.

I was very excited when Veggani, a vegan luxury handbag brand reached out to me to feature a bag.  Even if you're not vegan, I totally recommend checking out their collection!  Everything is ethically made and sustainably sourced, with recycled materials and lovely eco-friendly designs.

Golden Holiday Panthers

Dress: Anthropologie (similar) // Bag: Stella McCartney // Shoes: LC Lauren Conrad // Necklace: Sweet and Spark // Lips: Tarte

Happy December, everyone!  I'm sorry for the lull in posting: you may or may not have noticed it, but my posting schedule's been a bit off.  Life has been much busier than I'm comfortable with lately, and someone I love very much has been in the hospital in critical condition, so between my professional, personal, and student life, I haven't really found the time to sit down and type up posts.

This golden panther dress from Anthropologie is a dress I got almost two years ago, but I realized that I never featured it on the blog, which is weird because I love this dress.  Unfortunately it's not been available for a long time, but I linked a similar black and gold cocktail dress above that I also like.  I love having a touch of metallic for a holiday cocktail look, and black and gold is such a luxe combination.  This look will be my go-to for holiday parties this season!

Kylie Cosmetics "Dancer" Metal Matte Lipstick {Review}

via this post
The Kylie Cosmetics Holiday Collection first caught my eye on Kylie's Snapchat- and when I say caught my eye, I mean that I literally became obsessed with all the products from the upcoming line. The line launched last Monday and sold out in a matter of hours.

Before everything was gone, I was able to grab one of my favorite colors from the Holiday line.  "Dancer" is a metallic matte lipstick in a deep berry red hue with metallic sparkle.  It came in a Kylie lipstick ornament.

So, the review.  In short, I'm loving it so far.

Color  This lipstick is very pigmented.  The color is pretty true to how it looks on kyliecosmetics.com.  It's a rich berry red with a gorgeous metallic sparkle to it.  Obviously I have a pretty light skintone (I'm Asian and European for reference) but I think this would look absolutely gorgeous on darker skintones as well.

Formula  This goes on very smoothly and has a great texture.  It doesn't feel heavy or sticky.  This one claims to keep your lips moisturized, but I didn't notice any moisturizing effect.  I've never found a longwear or matte lipstick that provides any moisturizing affect, but at least this one doesn't dry out the lips either.  It's a pretty great formula.  And as an added bonus, it smells nice, almost like a vanilla scent.

Packaging  I loved the way this was packaged.  The black Kylie Cosmetics box it was shipped it was chic and it came with a gorgeous note.  The lipstick itself was inside an ornament (which now hangs on my Christmas tree).  I like the glass tube and the pretty design on it, and the wand is great.

Versatility and Wearability  I would wear this with both a formal/cocktail outfit like these photos or with something more casual like a sweater and jeans.  Either way, the color is a nice shift if you usually wear red lipstick.

Shopping Experience  Checkout on the website was quick and easy.  Since I live in California (which is where Kylie Cosmetics is based and ships from), my product arrived in just 2 days.

Hope you enjoyed this review!  I'm definitely going to be purchasing again from Kylie Cosmetics.  Let me know if this review was helpful and if you'd like to see more beauty reviews!
