Fall Recipes - Seasonal, Healthy, and Delicious

Holiday Stuffed Pumpkin     {via Green Kitchen Stories}
The shift into fall not only means new clothes to wear and new weather to face: I love turning around my kitchen to add an autumnal twist to things.  When someone says "fall food", most people think pumpkin.  I love pumpkin, but I also love using butternut squash, cinnamon, sweet potato, blackberries, and all kinds of delicious fall produce.

The following recipes are from a few of my favorite food blogs, and they use some of the best ingredients to really capture fall in your kitchen.  Enjoy!

Vegan Earl Grey + Chocolate Shakes   {via The First Mess}
I'd never though of using tea in my smoothies before, but it sounds amazing!  This shake from The First Mess is an amazing indulgence, and a subtle caffeine boost.
Maple Pumpkin Quesadillas  {via Healthy Happy Life.com}
Doesn't that just look so good?  Crisp tortilla and a delicious harmony of white beans, maple, creamy pumpkin, and pure goodness make this quesadilla autumn perfection.

Pineapples and Pearls

Dress: J. Crew     Bag: Kate Spade    Shoes: Franco Sarto    Necklace: Sweet and Spark

This dress is so fun to wear!  I love the simple silhouette- it makes a fun print, even pineapples, so easy to integrate into everyday style.  It's also really comfortable- the stitching and seams are in perfect places.  J. Crew hit a home run on this one- I'll definitely be buying this style in numerous prints.

October weather over here in SoCal is ridiculous- is it even legal to be in the 90-100 this time of year?  Yesterday, leaving my air conditioning and going outside felt like stepping right into an oven.  Last week had cooled down a bit and I was hoping for a transition into real fall weather, but no such luck.  I'm trying to take advantage and give my summer dresses a few more wears, but I'm hoping for sweater weather soon.

Happy Weekend!

5 Current Obsessions

Happy Wednesday!  I hope you're all having a good start to the week.  Today I'm sharing a few of my favorite clothing and accessory obsessions lately.

1) With the start of fall and the colder seasons ahead, I like to start shopping for boots right about now.  This year's purchase is likely to be a pair of Joules boots- I love the printed wellies and the Evedon bow boots!

2) The release of KJP's new bow clasp pearl pieces made me really excited.  I've been meaning to buy a piece from the Atlantic Pearl collection for a while, but I couldn't decide.  Now the choice is clear.

3)  I discovered these a while ago, but forgot about them.  Just lately, I re-remembered this amazing collection of striped sailor shirts when I read about them on T&C, and now I really want to add every color to my closet.  Nothing better than a classic, right?

4)  Matt & Nat is a great vegan brand that makes cruelty free and stylish accessories.  Matt and Nat stands for Materials and Nature.  Their purses are environmentally sustainable, which is really important to me.  I've been trying to lessen my use of animal product accessories and get more eco-friendly things in my closet, and this brand is such a great way to do that.

5)  My best friend has a pair of these in blue, and I'm dying for a blush pair.  They really remind me of the Chloe scalloped flats.  I love Lauren Conrad's line, everything is just so her.

Letters on Lemons {Giveaway}

Custom Case: Caseapp

When life gives you lemons...
you put them on a iPod skin and slap a monogram on it.

CaseApp reached out to me to design a custom case or skin, and I was so excited to see that they had skins for my iPod Touch!  It feels like I'm the only person without an iPhone nowadays- all my friends have one and constantly update to the newest version.  I was never able to find a covering for my beloved pink iPod Touch... or at least one that I liked.

The design was in my hands when I created my custom skin, and it was incredibly easy!  I just had to upload an image to serve as a background, and I could customize with text, art, and other fun details.  I chose a lemon print by Kate Spade, and of course I had to add my monogram on there.

The skin came in the mail even quicker than I expected- and I loved that they included two copies of the skin just in case!  It is a more durable material than I was anticipating.  I thought it would be a sticker, but it's made of a really unique adhesive that is actually protective.

One of my main concerns was that the white background of my print would get dirty, but after days of use, it remained good as new, which is quite the feat.  I usually just toss my iPod into my bag, and there's all kinds of stuff in there at the bottom of my tote, so it staying clean is quite impressive!

I'm happy to say that I love my custom iPod skin.  CaseApp is wonderful for creating your own special design, and they have so many options- iPhone and Samsung cases, MacBook skins, and more.

Glitter in Grey

 Top: J. Crew    Jeans: Paige    Scarf: Coach    Bag: Street Level     Boots: Ferragamo (similar)

When in doubt, glitter it out!  This top manages to be simple but sparkling simultaneously, with the sequin covered body and the plain grey neckline and sleeves.  I love this with a striped skirt, but it pairs well with jeans or pants for fall.  Sequins are so much fun to wear, and they are not as hard as you would think to integrate into a cute look for work.  Add a classic and well-fitting blazer, and you've got a perfect office outfit!

I wrote a post earlier this week on how much I love my Street Level reversible vegan leather tote.  I'm so glad I chose this particular color, because the cognac goes with everything, and the mint is a fun twist and can add a great pop of color to an outfit when I need it.  This tote and these boots with definitely be on rotation all fall.

Happy October!
